Summertime is Strawberry Time
The time is running – only five weeks more and the summer holidays are starting. And as usual between whitsun holidays and summer holidays a lot of work is accumulating so it is very difficult to take even a breath. Summer-parties everywhere, most of the friends of my children are celebrating their birthdays and all kind of final ceremonies are taking place. And it is understandable that the recreation time for me in August is more than essential. But as I know that Portugal and Italy is waiting for me, I am very cool and relaxed. And even the continuous rain during the last days did not harm me at all. Very calm I reacted as my children destroyed the bamboo plants in the garden or when I found a buckle in my car. Seeing the near future in front of me, laying at the poolside or swimming in the sea, reading books or testing new dishes and all this under the bright sun of the South, nothing - really absolutely nothing -can bother me at the moment.
But before that all is going to happen, I have to do what has to be done. And in between I am cooking and baking or simply organizing the life of my family.
At the moment the strawberry season is in full swing. The farms have opened their doors and one of next days I am intending to go there to pick my own fruits fresh from the plants. In the meantime I purchase the fruits in the small booths which you can find at the moment everywhere.
The strawberry season inspires me to present you my latest recipe: Strawberry-Tiramisu.
