To get juice out of fresh lemons

To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature & roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing.

 

No budding potatoes

To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

 

Storage of fresh vegetable

Fresh vegetable is lasting longer if you wrap it in a plastic bag and store it in the vegetable compartment of your fridge. Asparagus has to be wrapped before storing in a wet cloth. To keep carrots and radish longer fresh remove the leafs before storing. Spinach, aubergines and green pepper are unsuitable for a longer period of storing.

Storage of mince meat

Use only fresh mince meat and use it on the same day or store it in the deep freezer.
Minced mead should be used or frozen the same day you bought it.
Tip: Fill it into a plastic bag and press it flat by any available tool or utensil. You can store it easier in the deep freezer and it takes less time for defrosting.

Whipping egg whites quickly

Fill the liquid white of the egg in a clean bowl, add a pinch of salt and a splash of lemon. Continue to beat again.

How to cut and eat a Mango

Hedgehog-method: Cut from the top of the mango, down one side of the stone. Then repeat with the other side. You should end up with three pieces - two halves, and a middle section that includes the stone.
Take a mango half and use a knife to make lengthwise and crosswise cuts in it, but try not to cut through the peel. Turn mango half "inside out," separating cubes.

Fish, meat and poultry

Fish, meat and poultry are very delicate and have to be stored at the coolest place of the fridge. That means the lowest compartment of the fridge, just above the vegetable compartment is the right place.
Attention: the best fish is the fresh fish.

 

Sliding butter

To keep butter from sliding around on the butter dish, heat the dish with hot tap water, dry off and then put the butter stick on the dish. Then put it into the refrigerator. It will melt just a little of the butter, and then will freeze when you put it into the fridge. It does not slide around anymore.

 

How to clean Stainless Steel Sinks

A great way to get your stainless steel sink to look brand new. Put some lemon oil or pledge on a paper towel and coat the entire surface of the sink. It will look brand new!
